As you know if you saw our announcement yesterday, Think Magazine has merged with The Stony Brook Press. Thinkr will also be transitioning in accordance with these changes - you might have noticed our URL has changed from thinkmag to sbpress. We’re working on changing things like the theme, so be on the lookout for a redesign soon!

We’re excited to maintain a Tumblr presence for the new Press, but we do have one problem: We have no idea what to call this thing. “Pressr” just doesn’t have much of a ring to it. So we’re opening it up to our followers: any ideas?

Help Stony Brook's Liberal Voice Fight Back Against Its Biased Administration!

Stony Brook’s Progressive Publication Think Magazine has been trying to get funding on campus for the better part of two years. The administration forced the magazine to abide by the same rules as everyone else because they said we were no different than any other student organization, like the “College Republicans” for instance.

Now, the administration is denying our request for $1,000,000 because they claim that “[we] don’t have that kind of money, are you fucking crazy?”

This argument by the university has no merit and is a tactic by the far-right administration to suppress the total domination expansion of liberal minded student publications on campus!

Disclaimer: This “fundraiser” is just a parody of the SBU YAF branch’s equally absurd ploy for donations, which you can find here, and is by no means a serious request. But if, for whatever reason, you still feel compelled to donate, we do like money (and especially the print copies of our magazine that are produced by money).
